STRATEGIES staff member joins Sustainable Games Alliance Board

We’re thrilled to share that Sonia Fizek, our WP2 lead on STRATEGIES, has been appointed to the board of directors at the Sustainable Games Alliance (SGA).

The SGA brings together developers, studios and organisations committed to creating a more sustainable games industry — from reducing emissions in development to improving standards and transparency across the board.

As part of the STRATEGIES project, Sonia leads Work Package 2, which focuses on how we can shape the future of games through sustainable design practices. From the start of STRATEGIES, we’ve collaborated closely with the SGA to support a unified approach to sustainability in games — helping consolidate efforts, share knowledge, and push for practical industry standards.

Sonia’s appointment strengthens this collaboration even further. As one of the only research-focused members of the Alliance, STRATEGIES can help evaluate and improve sustainability standards — and make space for more universities and non-profits to join the conversation.
