STRATEGIES welcomes new board members

We are very pleased to welcome three new members to our International Advisory Board. The International Advisory Board provides strategic and scientific support for the STRATEGIES project, providing global expertise in the game industry, sustainability science, the environmental humanities, education, and messaging and communication.

Our new board members hold particular expertise and experience in sustainability within the video game industry, working on the Playing for the Planet programme and with the International Game Developer Association’s Climate Special Interest Group.

Clayton Whittle is a serious games researcher, educator, and designer. He has a Ph.D. in Learning, Design, and Technology from Pennsylvania State University and was the lead author of the Environmental Game Design Playbook, published by the IGDA. He is currently the co-chair of the IGDA Climate SIG and works at the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, where he applies his skillset to online forestry education.

Arnaud Fayolle has shifted his career of veteran Art Director with a track record of sixty released games, including major AAA blockbusters (Forza Horizon series, The Division 2, The Last Of Us…) to refocus his efforts on the role of video games as a lever for cultural change in the current socio-environmental crises. He’s currently Co-Chair of the IGDA Climate Special Interest Group and work as Game Sustainability Project Director at Ubisoft where he enables a dozen studios to reduce their environmental footprint and increase the positive cultural power of their games.

Lisa Pak has spent over a decade in the mobile gaming and advertising industry Lisa gaining expertise in different areas such as user acquisition, ad monetization, strategic partnerships, and sustainability. She is now part of the Playing for the Planet team, an initiative facilitated by UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme). Their goal is to inspire the gaming industry to take action for the planet.
